Paper accepted in Performance Evaluation

Two directional antenna radiation patterns. Read more in the article.

MAPCI researchers are investigating the pros and cons of deploying directional antennas in highly dense deployment scenarios, including femtocells and wireless LANs in public spaces.

The team recently had an article accepted in the journal Performance Evaluation where benchmarking results were presented for some scenarios. The article shows that care needs to be taken when considering the cost for directional antennas as the optimal cost/benefit tradeoff does not make very high directionality the preferred solution.

The paper was authored by Yuan Li, Michal Pioro and Bjorn Landfeldt.
